Biography Aravind Adiga (b. ) was born in Madras, into a family of wealthy bankers and influential politicians. At age six, his family moved to Mangalore, on the southwest coast of India, where his parents had been born. Adiga went to high school and college in Mangalore before his family emigrated to Australia. He later later studied at Columbia University in New York City and at Oxford.
